16th edition of International Education Show records highest participation ever

The 16th edition of the International Education Show 2020 (IES 2020), Jan 22 -24 in the Expo Center Sharjah, has been crowned as the biggest edition ever.
The International Education Show that saw the participation of over 120 educational and academic institutions from 20 countries around the world.
Most notable in attendance are the US, UK, Malaysia, Jordan, Lebanon, India, Poland, and Cyprus, amongst many others. In addition to the distinguished participation of the local academic institutions and universities.
The Emirate of Sharjah hosted the 2020 edition of the International Education Show with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
Also, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sharjah Education Private Authority, in a bid to establish a first educational base and enhance the already existing ones.
The 16th International Education Show was inaugurated by Sheikh Khalid Bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation Sharjah, in the presence of other senior dignitaries from the Sharjah government and Expo.

Sheikh Bin Essam Al Qasimi inaugurates IES 2020

Speaking at the inauguration, Sheikh Bin Essam Al Qasimi said the Emirate of Sharjah is keen on establishing a leading educational base to explore the future for its children and building a generation capable of giving, through education and knowledge, as they are the mainstay of sustainable development.
He further noted that the International Education Show had proved its growing significance and momentum for the international and local universities and educational institutions wishing to expand and enhance their presence in the country and the region.
The Civil Aviation boss also commended the growing stature of the International Education Show and the volume of local, regional, and international participation.
He said:

This offers students wide options of higher education programs, scholarships and admission requirements in the most important national and foreign universities.

The three-day event will also host educational seminars and workshops featuring the world’s most renowned education experts and academics.
As the best platform for educational institutions from across the region and world, the intention is to spot the brightest talents who are willing to pursue higher studies in a variety of specializations in globally reputable institutions.
Industry analysts have been motivated about the “healthy growth in the number of students enrolling in primary, secondary and tertiary education segments, along with a rise in the number of education institutions in the country and the region.”
Chetan Bhaga, a famous Indian author is one of the noted speakers who will speak at an exclusive session for parents.
He is slated to speak on the role of parents in improving the educational performance of students, through the constant communication between students and their parents about the educational paths and academic orientations of students.
The show will also host several workshops to disseminate information about study abroad and the utilization of Artificial Intelligence in education future opportunities.

Major importance of the International Education Show

According to Sheikh Majid Faisal Khalid Al Qasimi, the SCCI’s first Vice-Chairman, one of the notable significance of the International Education Show, is that it brings together the leading academic institutions into one gathering.
This invariably makes the gathering a significant platform for exchanging experiences and finding solutions to all challenges facing the educational process.
Sheikh Al Qasimi, also noted that Sharjah has also allocated about 24 percent of the general budget for 2020, to support scientific and cultural services and encourage creativity, innovation, and scientific research.
Also, another aspect of the importance show is the Edu-Tech unique platform that brings together some of the top companies operating in the educational technology sector.
Edu-Tech will showcase the latest in smart education technology and resources.

Career Utsav

According to the cooperation agreement signed by the Expo Centre and K2 Learning Resources India, the 16th International Education Show is also hosting “Career Utsav.”
This is one of the most critical higher education and career guidance events in India. Through Career Utsav, a total of 50 Indian universities, colleges, and other educational institutions and boarding schools are taking part in the game.
Maryam Al Hashmi, a student from Sharjah attending the fair, she looks forward to getting into one of the international universities thanks to the fair.
She stated:

I am very much interested in the various scholarship opportunities. However, I wish there would be more US universities in the future. There is only one at the moment.

The three-day event notably saw an influx of hundreds of school students, faculty, and parents at the event.
