Worth it/worthwhile
1. Are both these sentences correct and do they mean the same:
a) "I had a similar experience in the past, and it proved not to be worth it."
b) "I had a similar experience in the past, and it proved not to be worthwhile."
2. In case both are correct, is more informal or formal than the other.
