Wording help please?

Hi,

Please advise this word "perceive" means "aware" or " notice" to you?

I perceived (awarded / noticed) someone breaking in my house last night.

John Aki I perceived (awarded / noticed) someone breaking in my house last night. "Award" has nothing to do with "aware". You could say that you became aware that someone was breaking in.

"Award" has nothing to do with "aware". You could say that you became aware that someone was breaking in.

Leaving that aside, neither "perceive" nor "notice" is appropriate here although both are possible. "Saw" is the plain English, "I saw
