Could somebody tell me which of these sentences is correct?
1. I am an elderly lady.
2. I am old/ I am an old lady/man
3. I am elderly.
To me # 3 sounds awkward without the noun "lady/man", as specified in # 1. Number 2, on the other hand, sounds inappropriate.
Every time that I used the adjective "elderly" I have to use the noun man/lady otherwise it sounds "off" Am I correct? i would appreciate your response.
