I am confused how to use who or whom in this sentenceThe woman who/whom I saw yesterday was Sasha.Thank you

This is what we say today and it is accepted as correct: The woman who I saw yesterday was Sasha.

This is the technically grammatically "correct" version, which is falling out of use: The woman whom I saw yesterday was Sasha.

It used to be considered correct to use whom whenever the objective form of who was required. (as in your sentence) This is no longer necessary and the objective form who is now commonly used, even in formal writing. Who cannot be used directly after a preposition but the preposition is usually displaced to the end of the clause, as in: The man who he sent the package to had died.

In formal writing whom is preferred in sentences like these: The man to whom he sent the package had died. In formal and informal situations, whom is used when it cannot be separated from a preposition: The students, many of whom were sick, were sent home early.
