Which tense for this?

Hello, I write a comment about my experience with people I have met so far and that I also meet in the present during my career.

Could you correct the following statement, so it expresses the above mentioned fact in best possible way:

Everything he mentions as terrible ideas to do when building a product, people I met in my professional life thought were great ideas to do ... and it is very sad to hear that most companies in the industry are "infected" by that flawed thinking too.
