Which one is correct?

So, I'm planning to write a story with a first person point of view, and is currently wondering which one should be used after a dialogue, like this :

1)"Hello!" She barged into my room without me noticing.
2)"Hello!" She barges into my room without me noticing.

Which one should I use in my story?

But when to use a specific one of them? I see no difference in the terms of usage regardless that one of them is a present statement while the other one is past.

The normal convention when writing a story is to relate it as though it happened in the past. Writers normally use past tenses.

However, you can make events seem more vivid by using present tenses.

If you are clearly interspersing the past narrative with the writer's present comments, then a change of tenses is fine.

Basically, there are no rules about this. Do what you think works, and then give your writing to some friends and see how they react.
