I think it's D) "a great deal of". And here's why: Care and money are uncountable nouns, so A) a good number of and B) several cannot be used here. I'm not sure, but I think the same argument can be used with C) fewer .

I'm not sure, but I think the same argument can be used with C) fewer. If it can't, I have another argument: it emplies fewer than something, which is not in the sentence, so it also
