Which one is correct?
Could anyone help me figure out the following question?
Which one is correct?
(1) Those women are misused by their husbands.
(2) Those women are misused by their husband.
My thinking is that,
in my opinion, (1) interprets like that " Because it uses the plural noun(their husbands), A woman could be misused by B woman's husband. Or that a woman can have above one husbands, so it could be that D woman's husbands are C woman's, or F woman has G woman's and H woman's."
In the other hand, (2) interprets like that "Those women have the same husband, and they are misused by the husband."
It has confused me for a long time, if anyone can help me, thank you very much.
