Anyone who applies themselves/themself/theirself/theirselves will be remembered.

'Anyone who applies themselves' is gaining acceptability, and is frequent in spoken English. If you are writing an academic or business paper, however, I advise you to use the more formal 'anyone who applies himself' or 'anyone who applies him/herself'.
