Hello! Could you help me?
What does the sentence "where does it leave us?" mean in the following context:
"We're always hearing stuff about fat being bad for us. It causes heart attacks, but I heard on the radio that French eat a high fat diet and they have fewer heart attacks than we do in America, so where does that leave us?"
I've found that it means "what will be the result" or "What will be with us" but then I don't quite understand what the speaker means. Does he mean "so I don't care" or "so are we going to die soon". I'm puzzled. Thank you for your help!
