When answering question, you should not know yourself beforehand.

I can see why you have difficulty, as this sentence makes no sense to me. Can you explain to us the context in which you've seen it?

It may be trying to convey that the person answering a question (as on a test) should not be privy to the question beforehand, but that is not what it says. One would say that in a manner such as, "Respondents should not be allowed to see the questions prior to answering them."

Unless it is some strange philosophical statement about inner knowledge being a negative when asking some fundamental life questions of oneself (which doesn't make much sense even philosophically, as inner knowledge is a good thing, not a negative), I have absolutely no idea what this is trying to convey.
