. The role of university education in society has always been discussed. Some people claim that this education is important to prepare people to their economical lives in society while other believe that the importance of the university education exceed its practical role and is more about changing society in a deep way. Some of the points of these arguing will be discussed in the lines below. . It is indubitably that university education has its benefits in people's qualifications to the work system. With higher education, people can be better prepared to face the challenges of their work fields and, thus, have more chances to succeed in them. As our economical lives have an important participation in our overall well-being, the practical importance of university eduction for individuals of our society is clearly seemed. . But university education should not be seem only as this practical tool to affect our quality of life as individuals, but also as an valuable resource for deeper social changes. They have the opportunity to stimulate a critical assessment of reality in those who apply to this education and thus discuss and improve beliefs and values that we share as a group. This discussion is a crucial way to build a more tolerable and respectful society, which brings benefits for all the people in it. . Based on what was exposed, it is understandable why there are different points of view regarding university education in our society. To synthesize, I think university education should first concern itself to prepare individuals to work challenges, as it quickly affects society, directly promoting social changes, that is not only good for the individuals but also create a strong social basis to sustain university's other goals and deeper changes. This critical and respectful society must figure at our ideals but we should not rely on that completely, as its implementation takes time and effort.
