I'm trying to find a model letter in the web, or any other post in this forum that may help me to write a letter I need. The main problem is that I don't know under what title I must search. I've visited the web sites suggested in the FAQ section, and there are lots of model letters (mainly in 4hb.com) but, as I said, I don't know how mine is called.
The letter I need, in fact, shouldn't be written by myself. I have been working at two foreign laboratories this summer, and I need a letter signed by the persons in charge there so as to certify that I've been there, when I've been there and what I have done there. It's one of those to-whom-it-may-concern letters. As I said, this letter should be written by my bosses, not by myself, but they've asked me to write it for them, so they only have to sign it.
What's the name of this type of letters? I haven't been able to recognize it in those web sites from the FAQs, and I've got no clue how to write it. Thanks a lot in advance.

It's a reference letter. Try this: employment reference letter template sample Date To whom it may concern, I confirm that (name) is/was employed as (position) with this organisation from (date) to (date/the present day), and was/is paid (salary, plus bonus and benefits as applicable). Their job of (position) carries the following responsibilities (describe briefly the job).

Thanks a lot. I don't think I would have been able to find out the type of letter myself. I'll look for more examples in the web too see which one fits best what I need, and try to write mine. Thanks again!
