Hi,

Let me illustrate by an example.

In Canada, the government is not allowed to put someone in prison without a fair trial first.

Some people argue that, if the police could do this, our society would be safer because lots of criminals would be in prison. In other words, thay argue that we would have more security in our society.

But we would have to give up an important part of our freedom, which is our right to a fair trial.

In other words, we would be sacrificing freedom for security.

The saying suggests that if you do that, you will finally have neither security nor freedom.

Another example is the increased security measures at airports. Some people feel these reduce our freedoms and still do not provide real security.

Wow really there's no security in freedom!!!! It means there's no guarantee of safety or anything else for that matter  except your freedom that is the security
