Was or were? (in passive voice of subjunctive mood)
Hello,
In passive voice of subjunctive mood sentence, , should I use 'was' or 'were'?
For example:
If the word 'fiery' was/were spelled 'f-i-r-y,' (actually it isn't) we might lose one vowel sound in the middle of its correct pronunciation.
Thanks.
