W/ or w/o "a"?
Hi,
In some sentences, I see nouns being used without articles. Are these grammatically correct? And if so, in what cases it's OK to omit them?
To make my question clear, I'll quote some examples from a transcript on NPR .
e.g.
We're listening to Terry's interview, recorded in January with "_" director Darren Aronofsky. (without)
I'm Dave Davies, "_" senior writer for the Philadelphia Daily News, filling in for Terry Gross. (without)
Rourke plays Pandy Robinson, "a" wrestler who was a star in the '80s. (with)

The first two have no articles because they are job titles. The third is not a job title; it is his occupation.
