Hello everyone,

Could you please tell me if "somewhere" is the opposite of "nowhere"? I know that "everywhere" is the opposite of "nowhere", but for "somewhere", I am not sure.

Regards,

Joseph A

In the matter of quantifiers there are no real opposites. There is a three-way split when it comes to these indefinite pronoun quantifiers. everybody; somebody; nobody everything; something; nothing everywhere; somewhere; nowhere I suppose you could say that somewhere is the opposite of nowhere, and somewhere is the opposite of everywhere, because somewhere is not nowhere and somewhere is not everywhere either.
