Is it okay to use "pan out" as follows?
If you try hard, your English will pan out.

It's a little strange, but it's grammatical and understandable. I usually hear it in the negative: Sometimes even if you try very hard, things don't pan out. Examples from online: Like earlier prospectors whose dreams didn't pan out, they gave up and moved on.
