I think desk is attached to working and table for kitchen stuff...

A desk usually has drawers and is intended for one person to sit at. A kitchen/dining room table is just a flat surface with legs of some sort, and is usually designed for mutliple people to sit at. An end-table is smaller and lower than a kitchen table or a desk.
