Verificatin Test and Demonstration Test
A friend of mine asked me the difference between "verification test" and "demonstration test."
In my understanding, a verification test is an examination conducted to ascertain whether something is true or not because the person conducting the test is not sure about the result while a demonstration test is an examination conducted to show people that something is true.
Please tell me if my understanding is wrong.
1. Somebody wants to test a new wireless communications system because s/he does not know whether it is worth using. Is this a verification test? 2. Somebody already knew that it is a good wireless communications system, but s/he wants to test it before s/he sells the system and show people that it is a good system. Is this a demonstration test?

Your understanding of the words involved seems perfect. I have never heard of either a verification test or a demonstration test as fixed expressions, but your interpretation seems correct.
