1. Can the verb 'to resent' be used in the following context:

"I haven't quite recovered from my ankle injury, and if I run or walk too much, my ankle RESENTS."

2. Ans is it correct to say:

"If I STRAIN my ankle too much, it hurts."

A plain "resents" does not work. You can personify a body part, but the ankle has to resent something as a matter of grammar: "I haven't quite recovered from my ankle injury, and if I run or walk too much, my ankle resents it." If you want a single word, maybe "I haven't quite recovered from my ankle injury, and if I run or walk too much, my ankle rebels."

Yes, but it is not ideal because "strain" is a medical term for something that happens to ankles, and that is not what you mean. Also, if you strain your ankle at all, it is already too much. Try "use" or "exert" or "stress".
