Using colons
Hi teachers,
Should I use a capital letter after the colon in the following explanation:
Information: Express uncertainty or a very small probability in doing something.
Then comes the multiple choice exercise.
What about this one? Should I also use a capital letter after the colon?
Information: A secretary answers the phone.
Then comes the multiple choice exercise.
I've found this explanation:
In the explanation that follows the colon contains more than one sentence, you should use a capital letter.
In other cases, some guides simply advise consistenly, others advise that a capital should always be used.
So if I always use a capital letter after a colon, I'll always be right, won't I?

Hi, In your example, you really don't need the word 'instructions' at all. But if you use it, the colon is followed by one sentence. I wouldn't use a capital.
