Use of "summery"

Hi

Is the use of summery in these sentence OK (to native ears?)

I want to buy a few summery shirts.
The weather is still very summery despite December.
I want to do a little summery shopping. (I want to buy a few things related to summer.)

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks, Clive!

So the same rule for wintry?

Wintry shirts = OK
Wintry weather = OK
Do wintry shopping = Unidiomatic?

Please let me know.

We also say figuratively eg He gave me a wintry smile (unfriendly, cold)

Thanks again.

Interesting, isn't it? Summery shirts is fine but wintry shirts is not.

...but then English is full of surprises.

summery is very casual for characteristic of summer. Less casual is summer shirts.

You can say winter shirts. but the word 'wintry' sticks close to the idea of cold.
