Use of "do" or "are"
I am teaching English as a second language. Can you tell me how I can explain to one of my students when to use "do" or "are" in a question.

Basically: Use ' do ' with another, main verb: Do you see? Do you work? What do you like?

Use 'do' with another, main verb: Do you see? Do you work? What do you like?
Use 'are' with an adjective (Are you happy?), a noun (Who are you? Are you the doctor?) and with progressive aspect (Are you sleeping? What are you doing?)
