Usage of the definite article
Hi,
I need to prepare an error message for a software application.
This error message is displayed when a user tries to access a feature/function he is not authorized to use. I came with the following message:
You do not have the privilege to perform this operation. You may request the privilege from your Administrator.
Is the above message grammatically correct? Specifically, I need your help to review the usage of the definite article in the second sentence (underlined and bold). A colleague of mine, a native English speaker, says that the article may not be required in the second sentence. But somehow I feel that the definite article is required here.
It would be great if you could offer your suggestions/comments.
