Unbalanced use of words
Upon entering a record store, one encounters a wide variety of genres from easy listening to jazz and classical music. Jazz and classical music have a number of things in common.

The above sentence. Even if it is grammatical, how does the the underlined part sound to native's ears?
To my non-native ears, itI feels a little awkward, because the former part "easy listening to jazz" and the latter part "classical music" don't seem to be well organized. It sounds a little off balance.

Hi, Yes, from A to B and C does sound a little jarring. But note the writer goes on to say that he sees B and C as closely related, ie (B and C).. Clive

To my ear, from _ to __ indicates a beginning and an end and should not include anything in between. This can be solved by using "including ___"; then you can use as many examples as you want.
