Translating teaching positions and academic institution's names

Hello! I'm currently translating my resume to English, and I'm having a hard time translating my position and the name of the institution I'm currently working at.

Is 'Assistant Professor' an actual position? Where is it located in the salary scale?

Also, I work at 'Facultad de ciencias veterinarias, Universidad Nacional'. I'm traslating 'Universidad Nacional' as 'National University', but can't figure out how to translate 'Facultad'.

And a quickie: does 'experience in writing academic and scientific papers' sound OK to you?

Many thanks!!!!

Hola. Your English is very good. "Facultad" is "faculty," the teachers, instructors, and professors.

Hola. Your English is very good. "Facultad" is "faculty," the teachers, instructors, and professors. An Assistant Professor is a person who teaches at a college or university with the intention of gaining tenure, a guaranteed permanent job position. It is a step or 2 steps below a full professor.
