Train me as a doctor since I was small
I would like to ask how to say the following sentence in a grammatical way and with a natural collocation? Or is there a better way to say it?
"My mum has trained me to become a doctor since I was small."
"My mum has trained me to become a doctor since I was small."

More usually we would say "My mum has been training me to become a doctor since I was small."
However, I would look again at the verb "train". Normally you train to become a doctor when you go to university. Your parents do not normally do this. It may be that you mean something more like "encouraging". However, "train" is not definitely wrong.
