I'm in my office from 9am to 5pm. can i use "through" instead? when to use through?

through or thru is american, to is british. However the british form was always quite common in the states, but the american not in the u.k. This has changed a lot for various reasons, such as hollywood and the importance of the u.s. for the entire world
