What is the difference between too and also?

"Too" is used in positive sentences to add an agreeing thought. It has the same meaning as "also," but its placement within the sentence is different:

Also:
I was also there. (right after the verb to be)
I can also speak French. (after the modal verb)
I also speak French (before tany other single verb)

In verb tenses with many parts, "also" comes after the first part and before the second.
I have also been to France
I am also studying math.

Too: (at the end of the clause)
I was there too.
Jane speaks French. Sam speaks French too.

As well, in this context, means the same:
I was there as well.
I speak French as well.

"too" can sometimes be used with commas after the subject of the sentence. This is usually only done in formal speech.
Mr. Smith wanted the check the contract. I, too, thought it was really necessary.

I am too tired for words meaning very tired. Iam also keen to learn English.

He too is going swimming. He is going swimming aswell. The English language is rich and awkward.
