Hello,
I just came across this random sentence: "Feel fee to be the one to start a conversation because I am probably too shy to do so."
I think that "Feel free to be the one who starts the conversation, because I am too shy to do so." The speaker is addressing a specific person. What do you think?
I wouldn't use either, to be honest. I am not saying they are wrong, but my preference is slightly different.

Both versions are OK, and address a specific person. Some other comments - a conversation sounds like there may be a conversation. the conversation sounds more like there will be a conversation.
