To be of [a?] great use
Hello,
Could you please suggest whether an indefinite article is
necessary in the phrase "to be of [a?] great use"?
I do not see any reason to instantiate "use" so I would omit
an article. On the other hand, abstract nouns modified by
adjectives are sometimes preceeded by an indefinite article.
So, there is the truth?

Hi Victor Definitely no 'a'. 'Use' in this context doesn't really mean 'a use' it's more like 'usefulness'.
