This apartment
Hi, I asked a similar question about this the other day, but I just want to clarify. Let's say I am complaining about a couple of neighbours in an apartment next to mine. I begin my complaint to building management:
The tenants in this apartment are completely disrespectful.
Is "this" acceptable/correct? I know that in theory "this" apartment is the one where I live and "that" is the one my neighbours live in, but to me "this" is the one I am describing in the complaint, "this apartment under discussion". There is no way that the building management will be confused.
My tutor agrees with me, but I just wanted to confirm with the native speakers here.

As long as you have identified the apartment and its tenants, I am sure the manager will not be confused by the word 'this'.
