There are some sentences I can't understand in a novel.
I'm reading twilight to improve my English reading skills,and I cannot understand some sentences,I hope you can help me for them"
1.Maybe the truth was that I didn't
relate well to people, period.
I don't know what the "period"mean.
2.Charlie left first, off to the police station that was his wife
and family.
I don't understand the whole sentence.
3.The school was, like most other things, just off the highway
No one else was parked there, so I was sure it was off limits
What the 2 "off" mean??
4.I wouldn't have to walk around with it stuck in front of my nose all day.
I cannot understand the whole sentence.
5.He looked like the overly helpful, chess club type
what the"chess club type"mean??
6.Everyone within a three-seat radius turned to look
at me.
