The word 'aberrate'
Hi, I found the following sentences in The Free Online Dictionary: "The surfaces of the concave lens may be proportioned so as to aberrate exactly equal to the convex lens" and "The President aberrated from being a perfect gentleman." According to the online dictionary, the word aberrate means diverge, or deviate. But, interestingly, I can not find this word in Webster's New World Dictionary (Third College Edition). How can this happen? The same case also happens with the word 'aberr.' Does this word exist in English? Do native speakers of English use this word in their daily conversation? Thanks ....

I've never heard of it before in 70 years as a native speaker and never expect to encounter it again.
