The vs.these
It's really confusing when to use 'the' or ' this/these'. If I understand correctly, to identify things , determiners such as ' the' ' this/these' can be used, but depending on the sentence, sometimes only ' the' is correct. In the following sentence, can I use ' these'? Why?
The Red Cross is an international organisation which cares for people who are in need of help. The Red Cross exists in almost every country around the globe although the name of organisations may be different. But all of the ( these ??)agencies share a common goal to help people. I assume that "organisations" are "agencies", so "these" would be fine.
I don't see why only "the" is considered correct in your answer sheet. I can't explain why your answer sheet has that answer.
