Why definite article "the" is used before nature of psychotherapy? What is the meaning of "nature" of psychotherapy?

There can only be one 'nature of psychotherapy', and this is the nature it has. "a nature of (something)" is not possible because it implies that a thing has more than one nature, and that you're talking about only one of these natures.
