The linking verb BE followed by an adjective
Are both "good" and "well" predicate adjectives in the sentences below?:
I am good.
I am well.
The word 'well' sounds like an adverb, but there is no action verb and as far as I know the linking verb matters.
This is what I read in Mignon Fogarty's book:
"Well can be both an adverb and a predicate adjective. When you say “I am well,” you’re using well as a predicate adjective."
This answers my question, but I wanted to know your opinion too.
Is "good" also a predicate adjective in this sentence: "It tastes good" ?
