A. The more common by far of the two would be "Why didn't you sleep well?"What's the difference between BY FAR and SO FAR?B. What's the difference between constantly, contiually and continuously?    I looked them up in the dictionary, but I am still perplexed...   Could you please give me some examples as redards to how to use them?Really appreciate you for replying

What's the difference between BY FAR and SO FAR?

I like Pepsi and I like Coke. But Pepsi is better than Coke, by far. The expression compares two 'things', and says that one 'greatly surpasses' the other.

I like Pepsi better so far, but tomorrow I may like Coke better. The expression means 'until now', and usually suggests there is a possibility of some kind of change in the future.

I haven't got time now to look at question B, perhaps someone else will.

so far - up to the present moment in time (The possibility of continuing is implied.) (beginning or end of sentence; usually with a perfect tense)
by far - to a very great extent (after a comparative form)

So far I've read only three chapters of this book. (Until now I have read ... ) ( I may continue. I have not finished yet.)
This book is better by far than the last one I read. (It is very much better.)
John has won three races so far. (John ... up to now.) (He may continue to win races. He has not finished racing yet.)
That shirt is too expensive. This shirt is cheaper by far. (It is very much cheaper.)
