I convey my profuse apologies for delaying sending you this letter thanks to/due to the pressure of work that acted as a barrier to keep in touch with you.

I think that the underlined part is unnecessary.

Odessa Dawn I think that the underlined part unnecessary. Nothing is underlined, but much is unnecessary. It should read: I am very sorry for sending you this letter late.

Nothing is underlined, but much is unnecessary. It should read:

I am very sorry for sending you this letter late. I have been very busy at work.
