Technical writers present information in science, electronics

For some reason I find the use of "in" in the text below a little unnatural to me. I don't know reason for this. On the other hand, I think it won't be correct to say 'information about science, electronics,...' because it would mean that information is about the areas and not about processes, methods, theories, etc. which those areas address. I feel that saying something like "information related to science, electronics, ..." is a more proper way. What do you say? Perhaps, I'm confused about the use "information in" and "information about". Please help me. Thank you.
