Teacher's day

Can I say,

(a) My school organised / held Teachers Day celebration.

(b) We sang a Teacher Day song to teachers.

a) Either "organised" or "held" would be correct here. To be specific- to say "organised" would indicate the arrangements made for the event, and to say "held" would indicate the actual event happening. Also- again, if you are speaking/writing among American english users, the word would be spelled "organi z ed," whereas your spelling is correct for British English.
