S. Congress's recent failure to renew a measure which included the collection of certain taxes on airline tickets. I believe this non-renewal is the meaning of "FAA shutdown".

I believe this relates to the U.S. Congress's recent failure to renew a measure which included the collection of certain taxes on airline tickets. I believe this non-renewal is the meaning of "FAA shutdown". Because of it, travel after a certain date is no longer taxed - or is taxed differently - or something like that - I don't know the details.
