What is your favorite film? This means your ONE favorite movie.

- My favorite kind of film is martial arts. Oddly, at least where I live and hear it spoken, you put this in the plural. My favorite kind of movie (I'm American, I say movie, not film) are romantic comedies. Your favorite kind of film are marial arts movies.

- My favorite film is martial arts. No, you'd need to list only one movie.

2. Is "comedy" the same meaning as "funny movie"? and which one is more common? A comedy is supposed to be funny. If you say the movie was a comedy, you are describing its genre - what category it's in. If you say it was a funny movie, then you are giving your response to it.

3. "Swashbuckling movie" is used to refer to the kind of movie ( in China, Europe, America) which all the characters use swords to fight, right?

Generally, we call it a "swashbuckler" not a "swashbuckling movie." And not ALL the characaters have to have swords. And these days it doesn't have to be swords. Star Wars (the original) has been described as a swashbuckler - good guys, bad guys, someone in distress, fights that move around. A very typical swashbuckler would an Errol Flynn movie.

If I am americanized enough, I believe the "swashbuckler" type of movie is the kind with pirates, cannons, and sword fighting. Of course who is more famous in this kind of movies than Errol Flynn!
