suggest+gerund or infinitive

I suggest you not to ask who is going to the party
or
I suggest you not asking who is going to the party

which the following is correct?

Unfortunately, neither of your sentences is correct. This is what we use:

I suggest that you don't ask who is going to the party.
I suggest that you not ask who is going to the party.

The second one is quite formal nowadays and is not used so frequently.

I would only use the second one. In certain contexts and with approriate wording, the first-sentence grammar can give rise to a completely different meaning. (T

1) Neither of the two sentences has "suggest" followed by a gerund.
2) "suggest" need not always be followed by a gerund.
3) The second sentence sounds very good to me.

Suggest is followed by that clause: I suggest (that) you phone...
It has been suggested that the manager will resign...
Suggest doing sth. He suggested asking her father ...
Suggest how/where/what The therapist suggested how he could cope with this...
