I have two sentences with "as...as" and "such....as" what is the different between these sentences why one of them is "such...as" and the other is "as....as"?
-Throughout history, soldiers have carried out "such" heavy tasks" as" building brdiges, carrying ammunition, and walking hunders of miles.
-Painters "as" diverse "as" Goya, Manet and Picasso were inspired by Titian and other Renaissance painters.

1. Such + noun phrase + as + enumeration (the enumeration describes the noun phrase in more detail, that is, it gives examples of what the noun phrase is)

Example

I used to work with such dangerous animals as lions, tigers and snakes. or

I used to work with dangerous animals such as lions, tigers and snakes.

2. As + adjective/adverb + as + enumeration (this structure is used to show similarity between what preceds the first as and what follows the second as)

In your example, it says that the painters were all different (in terms of their styles) and yet just like Goya, Manet and Picasso, they were all inspired by Titian and other Renaissance painters .

Look at this sentence:
-Throughout history, soldiers have carried out heavy tasks.

Note that 'heavy tasks' is the object of the verb 'have carried out'...carried out what?...'heavy tasks'.

So, in your sentence, you have told us what are carried out (heavy tasks)...and we use the such/as construction because the 'such' (heavy tasks) = heavy tasks of the type I am about to mention, that is, give examples of: building bridges etc.

In your second sentence:
Painters "as" diverse "as" Goya, Manet and Picasso were inspired by Titian and other Renaissance painters.

...'diverse' is not the object of a verb.

We use the 'as...'as' construction in comparisons, to refer to the extent or degree of something :hailstones as big as tennis ***** | go as fast as you can

In your sentence, the comparison is, 'as diverse as'...(and then examples of this diversity_.
