such a beautiful day vs. so beautiful a day

Hi all,

I'm just wondering what is the difference between "It was such a beautiful day" and "It was so beautiful a day".

Also I'm wondering if the sentence "it was so beautiful a day that we decided to go to the beach" is acceptable or grammatical.
