Subject-Verb agreement, "...he take out the trash"
Hello.
In one of my quizzes, I had to identify subject/verb and to make corrections if necessary.
Here's the sentence that gave me trouble:
Mary Lou asked that he take out the trash. [subject / verb]
I made this correction:
Mary Lou asked that he takes out the trash.
The answer sheet says to leave the sentence as is.
Shouldn't "take" become singular since "he" is a singular subject (subject/verb agreement)? Why isn't it the case here?

This is in the imperative (command) form of the verb (although it is an indirect version). The direct command would be: Take out the trash! Does this help?
