Stative or dynamic?
Hello,
I'd like to ask whether some verbs are stative or dynamic?
to sleep:
Normally the verb sleep is dynamic, like in:
She has been sleeping the whole evening.
But what about this:
John sleeps well every day.
to imitate:
1. She imitates him all the time, which annoys him.
2. She is imitating him at the moment.
3. Somebody said that life imitated art.
Is sentence 2 dynamic and 1, 3 stative?
to make:
1. Can you make me a sandwich?
2. This music makes me sad for more than a day.
Is nr 1 dynamic and nr 2 stative?

The verbs are dynamic in all three examples. A stative verb is not used, or rarely used, in the progressive form. But that doesn't mean every verb is stative when used in a simple tense.

The water turned into ice.
I was offered a trip to London.
